Incompetent employees and terrible general manager.

I dropped off 3 silk shirts to be dry cleaned. The clerk asked me did I want starch, and I said absolutely not because starch doesn't go into silk shirts. They laundered the shirts anyway and put starch in them. One of the shirts shrunk and they refused to pay me for the damage. The manager Reynald gave me the run around for weeks, he is a straight out liar. This ZIPS in Elkridge, MD is corporate owned and this is a garbage franchise. I would never go back there again!!! We need to take action and protest outside of these cleaners.

100% agree this location is a horrible store. Zips is loosing it reputation.

I worry about trying any other locatipns.

AVOID ZIPS, they are cheap, but eventually you'll pay. (They lost 2 shirts and tore 1, never compensated for)

Jacking up the prices

The Zip dry cleaner in columbia jacked up the prices for garment. The price for shirt was 1.45 then 1.59 and now $1.99. They changed the policy to accept credit card below $10. means you must bring 6 or more pieces otherwise they don't accept credit card or even debit card. This is a rip off as other cleaners charge $1.49 for shirt, just take couple days to get it. When I ask why charging more, I got a response, management change. This is illogical!! Why does management change the policy and increases cost which is not comparable to other competitor. BTW, the prices are different in other Zip dry cleaners, mostly lower. Isn't it sucked?

Zips in Crofton MD lost three shirts worth over $150. I contacted them right away and they said they would get back to me. A week went by and nothing. Corporate emailed me and said they would contact the owner and now two weeks later and nothing. Do yourselves a favor and pay a couple extra dollars for piece of mind and good customer service because you won't get either one at Zips.

Lost belts

Zips lost belts to a dress and a trench coat, now what do I do with non-wearable clothing items? Talked to Kola the manager who was useless and not helpful at all! This experience is very disconcerting. The manager offered me a discount and would not even look for the lost belts! He tried to tell me it was my fault for not removing the belts before I had the item cleaned. If I was supposed to take the belts with me, why did they not give me the belts back when I took the items in for serice? This francise is lacking in customer service. The manager needs to be retrained on what it means to make it right for the customer.

MICHELLE - OWNER OF MANASSAS ZIPS UNCOOPERATIVE

Dropped off a pair of pants to be cleaned. When I picked the pants up I noticed that one of the pants legs hem was missing.

I went back to the store right away. After looking at the pants, ZIPS took the pants back and said they would fix them hem. They gave me a receipt with NO CHARGE on it, and said the pants would be ready within the week. A few hours later they called me to say that there would be a charge for the pant leg to be re-hemmed.

I asked to speak to manager and was transferred to a woman named Michelle, who said she was a 'part-owner'. She said I must have 'caught my heel on the hem and took it out'. She said 'there is nothing more we can do for you.' I asked if there was someone else I could speak to. Michelle said 'no'.

I asked if there was a physical name and contact information for someone who might be able to give me customer service and satisfaction and she said 'no'. Then she told me that I could post my complaint on this site. I told her I would prefer to actually speak to a person.

She said that my comments would be directed to her. I have no idea how that is supposed to help me resolve this or where the customer service is?

They really do not give good customer service was told one price for a coat to be cleaned went to pick coat up and was given a higher price for the cleaning asked to speak to a manager she was not helpful and very abrupt asked for a number for corporate office was told they did not have a number.once you give a customer a price that's the price you should honor especially since I asked up front

I am very disappointed and unhappy with your service. I got TWO SILK BLOUSES SPOILED in your "Professional Cleaning location in Essex".

I had to wait more than two weeks in order to get them "cleaned", and for my surprise this delay was because they were A MESS! The manager wasn't helpful at all. I have pictures of the damage and the receipt. I had 8 garmets "cleaned" at this location: five jackets (from my office suits) and three silk blouses.

The first time I went to pick them up, the jackets were not cleaned only ironed. The blouses were wet and not ironed. I asked for my money back and the manager assured me they will be ready the following week. When I came back the jackets were "OK" but the blouses "weren't ready".

The second time I came back, they took a long time to find them. I spent all my break waiting for them. THE SERVICE IS AWFUL! The manager gave me many excuses and not solutions.

I want to know what you are going to do with this. My blouses are: Ann Taylor Petite Silk Camp Shirt ($100.00 value) and Kasper Silk Streaked shirt ($100 value). Now I know it was a mistake trying to get a PROFESSIONAL service from a Company that offers such a cheap price.

I get my garments cleaned every week and I thought this will be an affordable option. HUGE MISTAKE!!!!

Just wanted to let you know your not the only one who is fed up with this place. They have something else coming if they think they can just push ppl around like they are nothing.

They lost my husbands vest that goes with his suit jacket for work, it's been over a month and they aren't doing a thing about it. Reynold the "manager" is horrible. They need to find a new one or else that business is gonna be nothing..

I'm sorry and hope things work out for you. End rant...

Appalling Customer Service

Ruined a St John Jacket in August 2014. After weeks of calling the store and the corporate office the owner, Tony, finally called me back and said he would send me a check. Never heard from him again. Horrible customer service and a liar at that. Will NEVER use a ZIPS Cleaners. The Corporate Office staff is rude and never returns calls. An Appalling way to do business in a new location and to attract new customers. I will tell everyone I know what happened, file with the BBB and make sure they are filed on. Tony owns many other businesses as well.

Went in at 7pm they closed at 8pm would not take in anymore laundry they ran out of BAGS. Great service? No apology from the mgr. She just looked me not comment at all.

The ZIPS in Gambrills, Maryland does not take any other form of payment besides cash. How convenient that they have an ATM right there, and it only costs $3.24 ATM fee; even better, $2.24 of that is paid to ZIPS! It says so right on the ATM receipt. What a ripoff! The ZIPS in Annapolis does accept major credit cards. So if you use the ZIPS in Gambrills, make sure you have enough cash to pay before you head over there. Not everyone carries wads of cash any more. Plastic is the primary payment for many people. The $3.24 turns out to be a 16% surcharge for a $20.00 ATM withdrawal.

Burned Holes in my Anthropologie Dress & they blamed Anthropologie!

I realize Zip's is a low-grade dry cleaning service, and I hate myself for using them to clean my Anthropologie dress. They burned holes in my dress; they blamed Anthro; told me to go to Anthro and get my $ back. After I laughed at them, they said to fill a claim form to have corporate assess the damage. Three mos. later, I'm still waiting for my dress. Called the store 4 Xs, nothing. No one wants to talk to me about a dress I can only assume is lost. Dry clean at ur own risk, and never let them keep your clothing if you want to see it again.

Zips Dry Cleaners - Suit Cleaning Review

My husband and I dropped off two white suits to be cleaned. When we arrived to pick them up the suits were no longer white. Both suits were now tan. It appeared as if the garments had been cleaned with other items causing the change in color. The manager was notifed and the clothes were sent back for a second cleaning. When we returned a second time to pick up the items the suits were still discolored and they were not stored in a plastic covering. The suits were left out and exposed. Speaking with the manager a second time she indicated that it was policy not to cover the garments after cleaning. She also indicated that the "color whitening" had left from the garments. We questioned her rationale as now both suits were now the same exact tan color. How could the color whitening leave both suits at the sametime? How could both suits be the same exact color although they are two different fabrics? The manager wasnt helpful. She claimed to have no way of contacting the owner and no information for the corporate office. She was rude and very pushy! We have been to this location several times but after this last experience we will not be returning! We do not feel that we were treated as valued customers.

Zips Dry Cleaners Manager Review

Zips off of Washington ave in Baltimore city is late with alterations and lost a pin in a pair of my pants and didnt call me for 8 hours. The manager makes sure you feel like it wasn't her fault an she "just found out about it".... No accountability. The seamstress clearly needs another hand or two so if you really need something rushed altered, I recommend going somewhere else

Zips Dry Cleaners - Torn Button Review from El Cajon, California

I had a new Joseph A Bank $87.00 pinpoint Oxford cleaned at Zips in Columbia, MD. When I went to put this shirt on a few days latee I found that a button had been ripped off. I returned the shirt and cleaning tag to the store aND ask to speak to mgmt. The store mgr. advised zips uses new technology so there is little shrinkage and we will replace the button. What about the hole in the new shirt. Pissed I am!!!!

Ruined 3 pairs of slakcs and my fiances dress

The Zips cleaners located on route 1 in Laurel, MD. is without a doubt the worst cleaners I've ever used in all of my 53 years of living. They ruined 3 brand new suit slacks that had sewn in creases, by not following the crease line and creating new ones, so now they have 3 or more different crease lines. They also ruined my finances $200.00 dress that she only wore 1 time. When I tried to get resolution from the manager she offered to reclean them but the dress and the slacks were already ruined at that point. I've tried reaching out to the General Manager Tina Sams, but she will not return my calls. I've called their customer service department and left Amy several calls and she will no return my calls. They're the WORST and if you're looking for a cleaners in the Laurel route 1 area DON"T GO THERE!!!!!!
